My first van Jagannath took me across the Balkans and we spent two winters in southern Spain and Portugal. I wasn't living in my van full-time yet, and mostly traveled 6 months of the year, (the first year being an exception when I was on the road for the whole year). Jagannath was super simple and only had a bed inside with a portable gas cooker. No insulation, just bare metal as walls and ceiling. When it was raining or very cold outside condensation would form on the ceiling and drip on me. In 2013 little Chaos joined us, when I found her in a small town in Spain.
At this time I wasn't traveling so much alone yet and the people in the photos are my friends who joined me on the road at different times. Jagannath never had a breakdown and the only reason I eventually let him go was that I wanted a hightop van where I could stand up in. I called him my Hobbit van! It took me to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Portugal.
